On Wednesday, April 18, 2012, Alabama State University’s College of Business Administration will host its monthly Business Empowerment Seminar at the Dunn-Oliver Acadome Banquet Room. This month’s featured speaker is Attorney Deitra Crawley.

Ms. Crawley advises both domestic and foreign entities in the practice areas of defense contracts, international trade, corporate and business law, mergers and acquisitions, and international dispute resolution.
Additionally, Ms. Crawley conducts executive level training, builds compliance programs and designs corporate policies and procedures that meet tailored business needs while satisfying regulatory
requirements. Ms. Crawley will be speaking on the topic of the regulatory framework
necessary to conduct business internationally.

A representative from the Alabama Development Office (ADO) will provide an overview of “International Business in Alabama”.

Also in attendance will be a U.S. led Turkmenistan delegation consisting of political and civic leaders. This particular delegation is sponsored by the U.S. Congressional Open World Program, which is one of the most effective U.S. exchange programs with the fifteen (15) breakaway republics of the former Soviet
Union. The Open World Program both supports Congressional outreach to Eurasia and conducts exchanges that establish lasting professional relationships between the up-and-coming leaders of Open World
countries and Americans dedicated to showcasing U.S. values and democratic institutions. This delegation will be led by the International Services Council of Alabama, Inc. (ISC), which is the diplomatic entity that facilitates like delegations interested in visiting the State of Alabama.

We look forward to seeing you on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18, 2012 for the Business Empowerment Seminar!
