Birmingham, AL (April 3, 2023) – Pastor Thomas Beavers and The Star Church will host a Citywide Easter Celebration and Community Fair on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at The Birmingham Crossplex. This event will be in partnership with V94.9 FM. The theme for the celebration is “A Family Affair” as the entire family is welcome to attend and participate in fellowship, food, and fun.
“Celebrating the life and resurrection of our Savior is a celebration we do daily,” says Pastor Beavers. “This city-wide event helps our church spread the goodness of our Father and provides the community an opportunity to come together to celebrate His life with activities that the entire family can enjoy.”
Admission to this event is free to the public with doors opening at 10:00 a.m. A pre-celebration featuring DJ Chris Coleman of V94.9 will kick things off at 10:30 a.m. The Easter celebration church service will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the citywide fair to follow starting at 1:00 p.m. The community will receive a life-changing word from Pastor Thomas Beavers that will inspire and motivate. During the citywide fair, local food trucks, vendors, and entertainment will be featured including fun rides and games for the youth.
“Because He got up, we are never defeated,” says Pastor Beavers. “This is our motto as we encourage our city and communities to keep the faith. Again, we welcome everyone to come out and celebrate this glorious occasion with The Star church family.”

About Dr. Thomas Beavers and The Star Church:
Dr. Thomas Beavers serves as the 4th Pastor of New Rising Star Church in the Eastlake community of Birmingham, AL. Upon graduating from Kentucky State University (BS Biology 2004) and Beeson Divinity School of Samford University (MDIV May 2007 & DMIN December 2013), he succeeded his grandfather, Dr. Tommy Chappell who served as New Rising Star’s Third pastor for 35 years 1975-2010. As the servant leader of New Rising Star Church (also known as THE STAR & #TEAMSTAR), Dr. Beavers leads several efforts that impact the community which include but are not limited to the following: education, financial literacy, workforce development, housing, recreation, and the church.
