Some of the most trusted medical leaders from the Greater Birmingham area have come together to encourage the community, in particular the black community to get vaccinated. Several Black Doctors have united in a county-wide effort to ensure the public that COVID-19 vaccinations are safe and very necessary as we look to make our communities safer.
Dr. Lindsey Harris, who is the first person of color to hold the position of President of the Alabama State Nurses Association; Dr. Celeste Reese-Willis of the Willis Medical Group; Dr. Mia Cowan of Mibella Wellness Center; Dr. Raegan Durant or UAB’s Division of Preventive Medicine; Nurse Lesa Rayford of Event Medical and many more are taking the lead in spreading the word in this Alabama Public Health initiative for vaccinations as COVID-19 has disproportionately affected the black community.
