Bedridden the Movie Brings Laughs, Birmingham Billboard Hunt + Chance to Win Earthquake Tickets
Birmingham comedy fans now have another reason to keep their eyes on the city streets. The new comedy film Bedridden, starring legendary comedians Earthquake and Donnell Rawlings, is officially streaming now on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV — and the film’s promotional campaign is taking over Birmingham with a fun new community contest called The Bedridden Billboard Hunt.
As part of the campaign, eight Bedridden billboards have been placed around Birmingham, giving locals the opportunity to win 2 tickets to see Earthquake live at the StarDome Comedy Club during his upcoming Birmingham appearance. The campaign blends comedy, social media, nightlife culture, and a little city-wide scavenger hunt energy into one interactive experience designed for people who love entertainment, date nights, and supporting Black film and comedy projects.

To enter, participants must first follow the official Bedridden social media pages before posting their entry.

About the Film
Bedridden centers around Frank Wright, played by Earthquake, a once-dominant family patriarch who suffers a medical emergency and becomes confined to his bed. Although his family assumes he is helpless and unaware, Frank secretly overhears their arguments, fake concern, greed, and behind-the-scenes plotting over his wealth and legacy. What follows is a hilarious and sometimes tense unraveling of family drama as Frank realizes he still has one final opportunity to remind everyone exactly who built the empire they’re fighting over.
The film also stars Donnell Rawlings as Robert Wright alongside Amber Miller Moore and Kenisha Pinckney. Combining comedy, family tension, and sharp observations about loyalty and entitlement, Bedridden delivers a mix of laughs and unexpected moments that comedy fans can appreciate.

Written, directed and produced by Derrick Shaw, the film continues his work in independent Black cinema by bringing together recognizable comedic talent, culturally relevant storytelling, and relatable family dynamics that resonate with audiences both on-screen and online. With Birmingham now serving as part of the film’s promotional rollout, local fans have the opportunity to engage with the movie beyond streaming — turning the city itself into part of the experience.
“This campaign is about creating excitement in Birmingham and giving people a fun way to connect with the film,” said Derrick Shaw, writer, director, and producer of Bedridden. “We wanted to tie the energy of Earthquake’s appearance at StarDome with the movie’s streaming release and give fans a reason to engage, post, and watch.”
With the film now streaming nationwide and the Birmingham billboard hunt officially underway, local comedy fans have a chance to turn a simple selfie into a night of live entertainment while helping spotlight an independent Black comedy project making noise both online and on the streets. Whether you are hunting billboards with friends, planning a date night, or simply looking for a reason to laugh, Bedridden is giving Birmingham audiences another interactive entertainment moment tied directly to the city’s growing influence in comedy, culture, and social media engagement.
The billboard hunt is already underway so let this be your notice to get started because once the winning post is verified, the featured ticket prize will be claimed.
