Guitars & Good Times Brings Community Together for Mental Health Advocacy at Bar Sebastian
On Sunday, May 24th, supporters from across Birmingham gathered at Bar Sebastian for “Guitars & Good Times,” a mental health advocacy fundraiser presented by LoveShooter Lounge, Glenn’s Sacrifice: The Griggs Foundation, and community partners. The event served as an evening of inspiration, connection, and community as guests came together to raise awareness and support mental health initiatives during Mental Health Awareness Month.

The event drew a strong audience of supporters, community leaders, creatives, and advocates including Jarrod Sims President of the Black Contractors Association – Alabama, Chapter, Tech Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Anthony Bucannon, Comedienne Mrs. V and her husband Ed, District 52 Candidate for Alabama State House Latanya Millhouse, and District 55 Alabama State Representative Travis Hendrix who presented a special recognition from the State of Alabama honoring the memory of Mr. Griggs and honoring his family for their continued work surrounding mental health advocacy, awareness, and community impact.

Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed a powerful mix of live music, comedy, spoken word, conversation, and fellowship from a “who’s who” of local performers and artists who helped create an uplifting and meaningful atmosphere. Vendors were also on hand throughout the event, adding to the community-centered experience and showcasing local support for the cause.
Held inside and atop the rooftop atmosphere of Bar Sebastian, the gathering once again highlighted why the downtown Birmingham venue continues to grow as one of the city’s favorite Sunday destinations. With great food, handcrafted cocktails, live music, spoken word performances, and scenic sunset views overlooking the city, Bar Sebastian provided the perfect backdrop for an evening centered on healing, awareness, and connection.
