Mistletoe, Mimosas & a Movement: 15 Years of Holiday Tradition with Quentessential Classic
What started 15 years ago as a vision rooted in culture, community, and celebration has grown into one of Birmingham’s most beloved holiday traditions. Mistletoe & Mimosas, presented by Quentessential Classic, returned this season and once again proved why it remains a can’t-miss experience for so many.

Founded by Quentin T. Carter—a local realtor, event promoter, Alabama A&M University alum, and proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.—the event has always been about more than just a good time. From day one, Mr. Carter set out to create a space where community could come together, give back through holiday gifts to area families, and celebrate the season with style, purpose, and soul.
In its 15th year, Mistletoe & Mimosas delivered everything guests have come to expect — and more. The room was filled with unmistakable HBCU culture, Divine 9 engagement, and rich, soulful holiday vibes that made the afternoon feel both elevated and deeply familiar. For many attendees, this wasn’t just an event — it was a reunion, a tradition, and a yearly reminder of what community looks like when it’s done right.

Live music set the tone and kept the energy flowing, while guests enjoyed great food, festive cocktails, and an atmosphere built on connection and celebration. Over the years, Mistletoe & Mimosas has become an annual tradition for countless guests, and this milestone year only solidified its place in the city’s holiday culture.
Following the event, Mr. Carter took to the Quentessential Classic Facebook page to express heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors whose support helps keep the vision alive year after year:
