ENCORE THEATRE & GALLERY PRESENTS
“MARC RABY’S SOUL FOOD: ANOTHER SERVING”
A HEARTFELT, HILARIOUS NEW HOLIDAY SEASON STAGE PLAY
STARRING SOME OF THE REGION’S MOST DYNAMIC TALENT**
BIRMINGHAM, AL (November 2025) — Encore Theatre & Gallery proudly announces the limited three-show run of Soul Food: Another Serving, the newest original stage production from award-winning playwright and director Marc Raby. The show runs November 20–22, 2025 at the historic Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame / Carver Theatre, and promises a weekend filled with big laughs, soulful storytelling, and unforgettable performances.
Set inside a lively downtown Birmingham condo building, Soul Food: Another Serving explores love, second chances, community, and the flavor of Black family spirit. When newly single Nicolette moves in with her teenage son, what she hopes will be a fresh start quickly becomes a sizzling mix of romance, comedy, and neighborly chaos—seasoned just right.
A STANDOUT CAST BRINGING THE STORY TO LIFE
This year’s cast features an exciting lineup of powerhouse performers, beloved personalities, and emerging talent:
SHARRON COLLINS
A powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and actress from Fairfield, Alabama. Classically trained in voice and piano at the University of Montevallo, Sharron continues to shine on stage and on the mic — performing with BB King’s All-Stars and preparing to release her debut EP. Now she brings her soulful voice and magnetic presence to SOUL FOOD: ANOTHER SERVING as Nicolette.
RAY LAVENDER
Recording artist and actor Ray Lavender (known for chart-topping R&B singles, national tours, and his breakout season on TV One’s The Ultimate Merger and Tyler Perry’s “Hell Hath No Fury Like a Woman Scorned”) stars in the role of Rick. Lavender’s commanding stage presence and smooth charisma bring undeniable energy to the production.
TRISTAN “FLOSS THE MACK” McFARLAND
A viral star, comedian, and online personality with a massive social media following, Tristan “Floss the Mack” McFarland brings his signature humor, swagger, and authenticity to the stage. Fans know him from his comedic skits, motivational content, and digital influence across multiple platforms. In Soul Food, he delivers one of his most memorable performances yet.
VALENCIA “MRS. V” JOHNSON
Celebrated comedian, playwright, minister, and empowerment speaker Mrs. V brings heart, humor, and soul to the role of Eunice. A national touring comic who has performed in arenas and appeared on network television, she is also a NAACP Community Contributor of the Year and creator of hit plays Bonita the Bag Lady and Heaven’s Grocery Store.
KENNETH LEE
Fitness influencer, podcaster, and television personality Kenneth Lee (widely recognized from OWN’s Love & Marriage: Huntsville) joins the cast as Darnell. Lee adds a fresh, compelling layer of authenticity to the story with his magnetic presence and undeniable onstage confidence.
ANDREW DUXBURY
Veteran Birmingham actor and professor Andrew Duxbury, known for standout roles at Virginia Samford Theatre (Little Women, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), stars as Archie — bringing emotional depth and warmth to the production.
A FUNNY, FEEL-GOOD STORY FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON
Soul Food: Another Serving blends comedy, music, and heartfelt storytelling, reminding audiences that family isn’t always who you’re born to — it’s who shows up. It’s a perfect pre-Thanksgiving outing for friends, couples, and families seeking entertainment with soul.
