Built with Love: Dad & Daughter Edition Creates Space for Connection in Birmingham (April 18)

In a time where schedules are packed and meaningful connection can often take a back seat, STREAM Innovations is creating intentional space for something simple—but powerful: quality time.

Following the success of its inaugural Galentine’s Day experience, the organization is bringing back its Built with Love series with a special “Dad & Daughter Edition”—an event designed to strengthen bonds between fathers and daughters through shared, hands-on experiences.

A Different Kind of Experience

Set for Saturday, April 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the event invites fathers, grandfathers, uncles, mentors, and father figures to step away from the everyday and lean into intentional, one-on-one engagement.

Participants will take part in guided LEGO® building projects, enjoy lunch together, decorate cookies, and capture the moment with a mini photo session—creating both memories and meaningful conversation along the way.

Attendees can choose between creative LEGO® builds, including a colorful hummingbird scene (which can also be transformed into a butterfly or tropical fish) or a panda family design that can be rebuilt as a penguin or orca whale.

At its core, Built with Love is about more than activities—it’s about intentional relationship-building.

“After seeing the impact of our first Built with Love event, we knew it was important to continue creating spaces like this,” said Dr. Adrienne Starks, Founder and CEO. “This series is about being intentional with our time and investing in relationships that matter.”

In communities across Birmingham and beyond, conversations around youth development often focus on education, access, and opportunity—but events like this highlight another critical component: connection at home and within families.

By creating structured yet fun environments for fathers and daughters to engage, STREAM Innovations is helping to reinforce confidence, communication, and trust—elements that have long-term impact well beyond the event itself.

Building More Than Projects

STREAM Innovations has been committed to developing the next generation through hands-on learning since 2015, focusing on Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STREAM).

The Built with Love series reflects that same mission—combining creativity, learning, and relationship-building into a single experience that benefits both youth and their families.

No prior building experience is required—just a willingness to show up and be present.
