Renaissance Live! Brings “Classical Meets Culture” to Birmingham’s Lyric Theatre September 25

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Get ready for a different kind of night at the symphony!

The Renaissance Orchestra is bringing Renaissance Live! to Birmingham’s historic Lyric Theatre on Friday, September 25, 2026, for an evening that promises to bring classical instrumentation and contemporary culture together on one stage.

The event is being billed as a Black Tie Event with the invitation to “Come Experience Where Classical Meets Culture!”

Rather than thinking of this as your traditional orchestra experience, Renaissance Live! brings together strings, brass and other live instrumentation with a contemporary presentation designed to introduce audiences to a fresh take on the orchestral experience.

The Renaissance Orchestra is also staying busy on the road. Following Birmingham, upcoming dates include Memphis, Charlotte, New Orleans and Atlanta. Birmingham audiences will actually get another opportunity to see the orchestra later this year when it joins Southern hip-hop legends 8Ball & MJG and Bun B at the BJCC Concert Hall on November 6.

Dress Up and Make It a Night Downtown

The black-tie theme gives Birmingham concertgoers another reason to make this more than just a show. Get dressed up, grab dinner downtown and experience the Renaissance Orchestra inside one of Birmingham’s most distinctive historic venues.

The Lyric Theatre, located at 1800 3rd Avenue North, provides an intimate setting for the performance and is known for its restored historic architecture and acoustics.
