A.W. Brooks Serenity Home, Inc. is a newly launched nonprofit organization in Birmingham, Alabama, dedicated to serving high school-aged girls (14–18) who have experienced trauma, neglect, or displacement. Our mission is to provide a safe, stable, and supportive home environment where these young women can heal, grow, and build a foundation for a brighter future.
Founder, Executive Director of A.E. Brooks Serenity Homes, Tomeka Mills, is proud to announce plans to build Birmingham’s first purpose-built group home for teen girls, designed from the ground up to meet their unique needs. Through our trauma-informed care model,
SHE (Strong – Healing – Empowered), we provide emotional healing, life skills development, and pathways to long-term stability. This project represents both a critical need and an opportunity to empower young women who are too often overlooked.
Anyone interested in supporting the efforts for Birmingham’s First Group Home for High School-Aged Girls can contact Tomeka Mills at 205-563-0203.
