Last Dance Freedom Friday in the Park Brings Women’s Health, Wellness and Dancing to Avondale Park (September 11)

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Women Under Construction Network invites the Birmingham community to get moving, have fun and celebrate health and wellness during the Last Dance Freedom Friday in the Park on Friday, September 11, 2026.

Presented as “Dance: The Women’s Health & Wellness Power Tool,” the free community event will bring an evening of movement, music and fellowship to Avondale Park from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Participants can experience a variety of multicultural dances led by dance instructors, along with music from a live DJ, vendors, snacks and more.

The event combines entertainment with an important message about encouraging women to embrace physical activity as part of a healthy and active lifestyle. Community partners featured on the event flyer include Birmingham Park and Recreation, UAB Center for the Study of Community Health, Live HealthSmart Alabama, Mobile Market and Birmingham Coca-Cola Bottling Company United.
